Principal, Network Engineering

Location: On-site at the San Diego Headquarters, United States; remote work is not an option. Domestic travel of up to 10% is required.

Salary: $101,277–$177,234 annually, with a midpoint of $139,256.

What you will do

• Design, assess, and maintain robust network infrastructure supporting application availability and performance.
• Provide principal-level technical leadership for complex, cross-functional network and infrastructure projects.
• Analyze data, troubleshoot network and application performance issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend network technologies, upgrades, conversions, and capacity improvements.
• Develop and automate network administration processes, documentation, security standards, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities.
• Mentor Network Engineers and other technical staff, lead matrixed teams, and advise internal and external clients.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree and 8+ years of related experience, including 8+ years as a subject-matter expert, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent knowledge of networking technologies, communication protocols, network design, operational support, and application monitoring.
• High-level proficiency with Windows, Linux, Check Point, Citrix NetScaler, Cisco ACI, UNIX, and related technologies.
• Knowledge of hardware architecture, disk arrays, drives, capacity requirements, and Oracle relational database architecture, design, and maintenance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, planning, and collaboration skills.
• Availability for on-call work, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
