Director, Data Center Operations (Healthcare Infrastructure)

Location: On-site at the San Diego Headquarters, United States; remote work is not an option. Requires domestic travel of up to 10% and flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays when required.

Salary: $130,148–$182,208–$234,267 annually.

What you will do

• Set infrastructure, network, data center, cloud integration, and enterprise release management strategies.
• Oversee owned, colocation, and disaster recovery data centers, including capacity, availability, security, hardware, storage, backup, virtualization, and lifecycle management.
• Lead enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, data center, internet, cloud networking, telecommunications, and network security initiatives.
• Establish release governance, change control, CAB oversight, deployment readiness, rollback planning, and release automation.
• Drive incident, problem, outage, disaster recovery, business continuity, KPI, SLA, and SLO management.
• Build and lead infrastructure teams while managing vendors, contracts, budgets, technology investments, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 10 years of related experience and subject-matter expertise, plus 8 years of supervisory experience or an approved equivalent path.
• Experience leading complex on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments, data center management, network architecture, release governance, and IT service management.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN/SD-WAN network architecture, ITIL frameworks, cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, virtualization, monitoring, storage, backup, and cybersecurity controls.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer service, strategic planning, decision-making, and vendor-management skills.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• ITIL 4 Foundation or higher.
• Azure, AWS, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CISM, PMP, Agile, SAFe, DevOps, disaster recovery, or business continuity certifications.
• Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or highly available enterprise environments.
• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Fortinet, VMware, CI/CD, observability, or infrastructure-as-code platforms.
