Principal Infrastructure Engineer

What you will do

• Lead an infrastructure team and set goals aligned with company and department objectives.
• Design, build, maintain, and monitor secure infrastructure systems across modern data center and cloud environments.
• Coordinate infrastructure and project management activities, including customer requirement refinement into actionable stories.
• Manage staffing, hiring, retention, employee development, performance reviews, training, and mentoring.
• Balance work across database administrators, leads, and supervisors while ensuring policies, standards, and procedures are followed.
• Provide management status reports, support budget planning, address risks and issues, and maintain 24x7x365 staff coverage.

Requirements

• 7+ years of related experience, including at least 3+ years designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, secure IT infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Agile methods and modern data center and cloud environments.
• Experience working across different IT departments to develop a broader business and industry perspective.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Ability to coach team members and build engineering capabilities.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field.
