Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent (Healthcare)

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; onsite construction role

Base salary: $79,200–$132,000 per year. Compensation may vary by city and state.

What you will do

• Support field workflow, project scheduling, three-week look-ahead planning, installation sequencing, and schedule commitments.
• Administer safety and quality standards across subcontractors, with emphasis on infection control, interim life-safety measures, egress, utility shutdowns, and occupied healthcare spaces.
• Coordinate subcontractors, design teams, facility representatives, authorities, inspectors, and specialty trades including medical gas, controls, nurse call, low-voltage, and healthcare equipment systems.
• Maintain daily logs, inspection records, photographs, as-built conditions, work tickets, shutdown logs, and other project documentation.
• Support site logistics, temporary facilities and utilities, long-lead-item expediting, method-of-procedure plans, tie-ins, energization, commissioning, and turnover.
• Manage punch-list and closeout activities through owner, architect, and facilities-team acceptance.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
• 2–5 years of commercial construction experience, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Ability to learn and use Microsoft Office, Procore, Adobe, Bluebeam, and project-specific software.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, collaboration, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments and coordinate complex healthcare projects in occupied spaces.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or occupied-space construction experience.
• Tenant renovation, service work, weekend work, or fast-paced project experience.
• Project lead experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• A four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business.
