Systems and Infrastructure Engineer II, Information Security

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; onsite at the Herndon Home Office tech facility

Salary: $96,000–$186,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Design and support secure infrastructure solutions aligned with security standards and compliance frameworks.
• Convert high-level designs into scalable technical components with disaster recovery capabilities.
• Automate infrastructure and security tasks using Python, scripting, and automation tools.
• Maintain infrastructure through backups, patch management, configuration and release management, and performance monitoring.
• Analyze requirements, assess risks, support capacity planning, and create user stories for agile development.
• Document system changes, issues, and development activities to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field, or 3 years of experience in systems and infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with infrastructure design, software architecture, distributed systems, and scalability principles.
• Knowledge of information and infrastructure security controls, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages, automation tools, coding standards, secure development practices, and code management tools.
• Familiarity with cloud and virtualized environments, configuration management, and release management.
• Ability to analyze technical and business requirements, resolve issues, and maintain system performance and security.

Nice to have

• Security+, GISF, or GSEC certification.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
