TL;DR
Windchill Java Developer (Java/Windchill): Developing deep Windchill customizations, services, workflows, data-model extensions, and asynchronous processes with an accent on PTC APIs, upgrade-friendly design, and performance engineering. Focus on migrating legacy customizations, optimizing queries and caching, supporting production systems, and mentoring engineers through complex platform work.
Location: 100% remote within the United States
Salary: $100,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do
- Design and develop advanced Java customizations within Windchill, including services, listeners, processors, validators, helpers, workflows, and robot delegates.
- Extend the Windchill data model using Type and Attribute Management, and build custom JSP, HTML, tables, actions, and wizard pages.
- Develop custom queues and background processes for asynchronous tasks.
- Optimize customization performance through profiling, query tuning, and caching strategies.
- Lead migrations from legacy customizations to modern, upgrade-friendly PTC-supported patterns.
- Conduct code and design reviews, provide production and hypercare support, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- U.S. work authorization is required; applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or eligible H-1B transfer candidates.
- New H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of Java development experience with a strong focus on Windchill customization and deep experience with the Windchill Java API and customization frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of the Windchill data model, lifecycle, workflow internals, Java object-oriented design, and performance engineering.
- Experience with JSP, HTML, Type and Attribute Management, SQL, Oracle or SQL Server, and Windchill upgrades.
Nice to have
- PTC Windchill development certification.
- PTC ThingWorx development experience.
- Windchill RV&S customization experience.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Windchill.
- Experience operating Windchill in the cloud.
