Senior Cloud Developer (Java)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office in the United States

Salary: USD 144,000–273,000 annually in Colorado, or USD 137,000–315,000 annually in Texas

What you will do

• Design, develop, scale, and maintain resilient backend systems for on-premises and cloud services.
• Build integrations with server management platforms, including BMC and Redfish, for automated provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Develop orchestration services that interact with compute and networking devices through REST and CLI interfaces.
• Engineer L2/L3 networking functionality for dynamic configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Define software architecture, security, code quality, and DevOps practices; conduct code reviews and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and QA teams while troubleshooting complex server, storage, networking, and cloud issues.

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in Java, Groovy, or another JVM-based language, with extensive backend and cloud development experience.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing cloud services and plugin-based architectures.
• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization on Linux or VMware platforms.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with BMC and Redfish protocols.
• Experience with Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
