Location: Carlsbad, California, United States. US citizenship and an active United States Special Access Programs Clearance are required. The role includes up to 10% travel.
Salary: $141,500–$224,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $176,000–$264,000 annually.

What you will do
- Lead modeling, simulation, and analysis for advanced communication and sensing systems.
- Develop mission-level, system-level, and subsystem-level simulation environments, digital twins, and representative mission simulations.
- Conduct architecture trade studies, sensitivity analyses, Monte Carlo assessments, uncertainty analyses, and performance characterization.
- Analyze communications, sensing, networking, autonomy, and multi-domain mission applications.
- Support system design, integration planning, verification and validation, proposals, architecture studies, and customer engagements.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, analysis products, and customer-facing briefings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in modeling, simulation, mission analysis, performance assessment, or systems engineering for complex communications, RF, sensing, defense, or space systems.
- Strong systems engineering knowledge and experience developing high-fidelity link simulations and simulation frameworks.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, STK, AFSIM, custom simulation environments, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with large datasets, statistical analysis, performance assessments, operational effectiveness studies, and technical recommendations.
- Current or recent Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and US citizenship required.
Nice to have
- Experience with digital twins, high-fidelity operational simulations, simulation verification, validation, accreditation, and uncertainty quantification.
- Expertise in RF propagation, signal processing, electronic warfare, autonomy, networking, or sensing systems.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, distributed simulation, and large-scale mission analysis.
- Experience supporting defense customers and serving as a technical authority across hardware, firmware, software, RF, and algorithm teams.
- Advanced graduate education in engineering, applied mathematics, physics, operations research, or a related field.
