TL;DR
Systems Engineer II (Aerospace): Developing and managing spacecraft systems, technical budgets, requirements, simulations, verification methods, and test plans with an accent on satellite and spacecraft development for civil, commercial, and defense missions. Focus on leading technical mission development, analyzing vehicle functions and test data, and defining interfaces and CONOPS for flight hardware.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; office-based role

Base salary: $100,800–$126,000 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $110,875–$143,625 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
  • Define system requirements, verification techniques, simulations, and analyses across vehicle functions.
  • Develop test methods and analyze test data for spacecraft systems.
  • Lead and own the technical development of spacecraft missions and work hands-on with flight hardware.
  • Support program and product management activities.
  • Develop interface specifications, CONOPS, and other systems engineering design documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or another technical engineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • Ability to work with flight hardware and support technical development of space systems.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems including ADCS, EPS, space-ground communications, C&DH, and thermal control.
  • Understanding of the space environment, orbital mechanics, and rigid body dynamics.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, STK, JAMA, or DOORS.
  • Experience with satellite operations and environmental or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
