Software Developer IV (AI)

Location: Remote in Canada

Starting salary: CAD 100,000–120,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze requirements, design solutions, estimate work, and develop software across the full Software Development Lifecycle.
• Create, prioritize, assign, and monitor development tasks while coordinating day-to-day engineering execution.
• Design and code full-stack applications using business and technical specifications and AI-assisted development tools.
• Write unit, component, integration, and documentation deliverables, using AI to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Review human- and AI-generated code for defects, insecure patterns, hallucinated APIs, maintainability, and adherence to standards.
• Investigate complex technical issues and apply secure coding, observability, debuggability, and maintainability practices.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of full-stack software development experience across frontend and backend systems.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Node.js, REST API design, SQL, and either Angular or React, with working knowledge of the other.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, Git, Git-based CI/CD pipelines, incremental testing, and coding best practices.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and the ability to validate, edit, or reject generated output, including awareness of hallucinated APIs, outdated patterns, and security risks.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; employment sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• ElasticSearch or other non-relational query experience.
• End-to-end test automation with Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• AWS, Azure, or GCP experience, including Redshift or a comparable data warehouse.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
• Experience building software in an agentic fashion.
