Base pay: CAD 132,000–178,500 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, test, launch, monitor, and operate full-stack HCM features across React front ends and cloud-native backend services.
• Build AI-powered and agentic capabilities using LLM-backed workflows, retrieval, structured extraction, and automation.
• Establish evaluation, regression testing, guardrails, fallback behavior, observability, and cost and latency controls for AI systems.
• Drive architecture, technical decisions, design reviews, code quality, CI/CD improvements, and reduction of technical debt.
• Mentor engineers, participate in on-call ownership, and collaborate with Product, Design, Data, QA, HCM, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production software.
• Strong full-stack experience with a modern JavaScript or TypeScript framework, ideally React, and a backend language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Node.
• Experience with distributed systems, API design, relational and non-relational data modeling, service-oriented architecture, cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD.
• Practical experience building AI features such as LLM-backed systems, retrieval-augmented systems, agentic workflows, or ML-driven products.
• Ability to own features end to end, communicate technical tradeoffs clearly, and work effectively in an Agile environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in HR technology, payroll, workforce management, fintech, or other financially material and auditable domains.
• Experience with AI evaluation harnesses, rules engines, calculation or ledger systems, configurable workflows, or third-party integrations.
• Experience with front-end performance, accessibility, design systems, mentoring, technical leadership, data privacy frameworks, or legacy modernization.
