IT Consultant II (Disaster Recovery)

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must be near Providence, Rhode Island; Allentown, Pennsylvania; or BOC, Kentucky

Salary: $70–$75 per hour on W-2; 12-month contract

What you will do

• Lead Disaster Recovery program execution across Tier 0–3 business applications.
• Conduct DR assessments and recovery strategy workshops with application owners and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain recovery plans, runbooks, test plans, and after-action reports.
• Coordinate annual DR testing, failover exercises, readiness assessments, and recovery validation.
• Analyze application dependencies, RTOs, RPOs, and recovery requirements, then drive remediation of identified gaps.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams while producing governance metrics and executive-ready updates.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in Disaster Recovery, infrastructure, or business continuity.
• Experience leading DR assessments, workshops, recovery strategy sessions, and testing activities.
• Hands-on experience creating recovery plans, runbooks, test plans, and after-action reports.
• Experience with enterprise applications and complex, multi-tier environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, including executive reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent DR initiatives and collaborate independently with distributed teams.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow Business Continuity Management and CMDB experience.
• Familiarity with Azure or other major cloud platforms and their disaster recovery capabilities.
• Knowledge of IT governance, continuity, risk, and compliance practices.
