Cyber Security Consultant

Location: Remote, with travel to UK client sites as required

Salary: £45,000–£80,000 per annum, depending on experience

What you will do

• Deliver security assurance, accreditation, and Secure by Design activities across complex client programmes.
• Produce and review Security Cases, RMADS, security management plans, risk assessments, and assurance evidence.
• Complete technical design reviews, security gap assessments, and risk-based remediation activities.
• Support security governance, control assessments, and continuous-assurance activities.
• Advise stakeholders on security architecture, cloud, SaaS, infrastructure, networks, and secure software delivery.
• Build relationships with technical and senior stakeholders, support bids, and mentor junior consultants.

Requirements

• Experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, GRC, accreditation, cyber risk, or Secure by Design.
• Experience in defence, MOD, government, national security, critical national infrastructure, or another regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant frameworks, ideally including JSP 440, JSP 604, ISO 27001, NIST, CAF, and Cyber Essentials.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, high-quality assurance documentation.
• Active SC clearance or eligibility to obtain it.

Nice to have

• DV clearance.
• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certification, or Chartered Cyber Security Professional status.
