Global Ocean Freight Procurement Manager

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Travel of up to 15% is required.

What you will do

• Manage regional procurement for ocean freight, including containerized shipping, freight forwarding, and drayage.
• Negotiate and execute supplier contracts to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Lead logistics tenders, strategic sourcing activities, and regional supplier meetings.
• Identify logistics network synergies, optimize the regional logistics footprint, and deliver savings and process improvements.
• Develop regional logistics plans aligned with the global logistics strategy and business-line requirements.
• Resolve operational escalations and partner on cross-functional projects involving SAP S4HANA, global master data, and sustainability reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in logistics procurement, preferably in ocean freight.
• Strong logistics and supply chain background, including strategic sourcing and supplier and contract management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional project management skills.
• Fluent English, both verbal and written, is required.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with Coupa for logistics events or a Transport Management System such as Oracle.
• Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills.
