Wind Project Developer (Renewable Energy)

Location: US, New York, NY; hybrid work environment with approximately 30% travel to project locations and AES offices as needed.

Salary: $110,000–$137,700 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead utility-scale wind project development across the Eastern United States, including NYISO and PJM service territories.
• Own project budgets, schedules, risk management, development milestones, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate interconnection, land, permitting, environmental, engineering, commercial, construction, finance, and execution teams.
• Develop permitting strategies, track permits, coordinate with regulatory authorities, and participate in public hearings.
• Manage environmental studies, site surveys, due diligence, project reporting, and relationships with consultants and contractors.
• Represent project interests in meetings, presentations, stakeholder engagements, financing activities, and project handoffs.

Requirements

• Approximately 4–8 years of experience in project development or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in renewable energy, urban planning, logistics, finance, business, engineering, project or construction management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of renewable energy project development, utility infrastructure, interconnection processes, permitting, and contracting.
• Familiarity with renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
• Strong project management, organization, communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms, project metrics, reporting, and managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
