Senior Azure Data Architect (AI)

hirify.global is engaging an Azure data architecture specialist to support enterprise data platforms and production AI applications.

What you will do

• Own the architecture of enterprise Azure data platforms across ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and downstream consumption.
• Design and improve the data and knowledge layer for production RAG, GenAI, and Agentic AI applications.
• Define pipelines for extracting, enriching, chunking, embedding, storing, and retrieving structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Design and optimize Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Synapse Analytics solutions, including partitioning, indexing, throughput, Spark, SQL pools, and cost management.
• Build reusable, metadata-driven ingestion frameworks for databases, APIs, files, documents, PDFs, scans, images, and free text.
• Assess existing platforms, document target architectures, and guide engineering teams toward immediate improvements and longer-term modernization.

Requirements

• Senior-level ownership of enterprise Azure data architecture and recent Azure data-platform projects.
• Production experience designing the data or knowledge layer for RAG, GenAI, or Agentic AI applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB, including data modeling, partitioning, indexing, consistency, Change Feed, throughput, scaling, and cost optimization.
• Current Azure Synapse experience across Pipelines, Spark, Serverless SQL, and Dedicated SQL Pools, plus Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server, T-SQL, Data Lake/Lakehouse, and Azure Functions.
• Experience with OCR and unstructured-data processing, metadata enrichment, chunking, embeddings, vector search, dimensional modeling, and scalable ingestion frameworks.
• Excellent written and spoken English required. Must work independently, make architecture decisions, and communicate recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
