Data Platform Administration Architect (Databricks/Azure)

Location: Remote within the United States; based in Glenview, Illinois, with travel up to 25%.

Salary: $119,327–$161,092 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, administration, governance, and operational support of enterprise data platforms.
• Administer Databricks and Azure services across production and non-production environments, including Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse, and Azure SQL.
• Own platform reliability, availability, performance, scalability, security, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Oversee change and release management, deployment planning, rollback strategies, CAB assessments, and post-release validation.
• Lead incident, problem, and major incident management, including root cause analysis and preventative actions.
• Drive CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automation, modernization, cost optimization, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement while mentoring platform engineers and administrators.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise data platforms, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform administration, or data operations.
• Hands-on enterprise production experience administering Databricks and Azure data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure IAM, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Experience in platform administration, platform architecture, platform operations leadership, CI/CD pipelines, Agile projects, and large-scale integration projects.
• Working knowledge of Jenkins, Maven, Munit, JMeter, Postman, REST, HTTP, JSON, XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth, SSL, and SAML.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States and travel up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of MuleSoft, Azure Service Bus, and Oracle Integration Services.
• Experience importing APIs into API management, writing policies and policy expressions, configuring authentication and certificates, and setting up caching.
• Two to three years of experience with CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft deployments using GitHub Actions.
