Benefits Consultant (Employee Benefits)

Location: Remote - Florida; the role requires at least 30% travel, including routine driving in a personal or rental vehicle.

What you will do

• Manage projects and day-to-day operations for an assigned book of business.
• Accompany brokers on initial prospect visits and establish working relationships with client groups.
• Coordinate onboarding, account team assignments, client deliverables, reporting, renewals, benefit guides, open enrollment materials, technology, and wellness strategies.
• Develop go-to-market strategies with clients and coordinate marketing, finance, carrier RFPs, timelines, deliverables, contribution strategies, and plan alternatives.
• Review existing plans and certificates of coverage to identify coverage gaps, compliance issues, and recommended changes or enhancements.
• Coordinate with compliance and communications teams on implementation requirements and open enrollment timelines.

Requirements

• Florida 2-15 license or ability to obtain it within the first 90 days.
• Bachelor’s degree, or a high school diploma combined with 5–7+ years of marketing or benefits underwriting experience.
• At least 30% travel availability.
• Strong knowledge of employee benefit concepts and practices, including fully insured and self-funded products, medical, dental, vision, disability, life, HIPAA, COBRA, and PPACA.
• Exceptional organizational and presentation skills, with the ability to motivate others and achieve results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to drive a personal or rental vehicle, an acceptable MVR report at hiring and periodically thereafter, and minimum acceptable insurance coverage.
