Senior Developer - IT (AWS)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States, or Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States

Base pay range: $112,480–$146,540 per year, plus potential bonus and long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, test, debug, support, and maintain critical applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis and technical design, using Agile methodologies.
• Build application frameworks, reusable components, coding guidelines, and cloud-based solutions.
• Develop deployment practices and pipelines and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
• Analyze user needs, lead software design discussions, and collaborate with end users on prototyping, testing, and debugging.
• Provide technical leadership to teams consisting of employees and vendor contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software systems or applications in an Agile environment.
• Experience implementing AWS technologies, including Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Cognito, Route 53, DynamoDB, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, and API Gateway.
• Experience with Git and cloud automation scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong knowledge of backend API development, Spring, SQL, NoSQL, object-oriented design, design patterns, messaging platforms, and application observability tools.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship. Reliable attendance and successful interview completion are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, Java, and Python backend development.
