Senior Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, integrate, and enhance complex software systems and customer-facing products.
• Analyze user and system requirements, define software designs, and develop algorithms for performance-intensive and real-time applications.
• Build and modify Java software, Spring Boot REST APIs, database interfaces, and data queries.
• Debug defects, resolve software problem reports, execute testing, and ensure quality control across developed and modified software.
• Collaborate directly with customers and system engineers through product demonstrations, scrum meetings, and requirements discussions.
• Lead multiple software development teams, delegate programming and testing responsibilities, and oversee delivery against project constraints.

Requirements

• United States citizenship and an appropriate active security clearance are required.
• Current PRIVAC within the past seven years and/or the minimum PRIVAC level required for the role, including NSYS, is required.
• TS/SCI with an agency-appropriate polygraph is required.
• Twenty years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of comparable software engineering experience in place of the degree.
• Experience with Java, Docker image creation and vulnerability management, a modern JavaScript framework, preferably Vue.js, Spring Boot REST APIs, Bash, and Linux tools.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PULSE, ABACUS, and Report Authoring & Dissemination modernization efforts.
• Experience with eVo, Greybox, Mockito, or other low-side development methods integrating with high-side infrastructure.
• Java 21 or later experience.
