Senior Cloud Engineering Lead (GCP)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, United States; 10% travel required. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $139,100–$231,900, plus a 17.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 cloud engineers while driving modern cloud engineering practices.
• Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and automated Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Develop reusable GCP cloud design patterns and standards for infrastructure deployment and management.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform, OpenTofu, Spacelift, Python, and Pulumi.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and product teams to build cloud-native capabilities.
• Act as an escalation point for operational issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, with 6+ years of experience; equivalent master’s or PhD paths are accepted.
• At least 2 years of technical leadership experience managing or leading engineering teams.
• Deep expertise designing, building, and operating production-grade GCP environments.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.
• Proficiency in a major programming language, with Python strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, mentoring, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spacelift, Ansible, or similar infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
• Advanced GCP knowledge covering VPC, Shared VPC, Cloud Interconnect, IAM, Organization Policies, Security Command Center, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience qualifying cloud services for GxP or other highly regulated environments.
• Google Cloud Professional certifications, such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
• Contributions to open-source cloud tooling or infrastructure projects.
