Senior / Staff Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Primarily remote in the United States; Virginia-based strongly preferred, with the ability to reach Herndon when required

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 base plus up to 25% annual bonus

UK-founded Defence AI company building sovereign AI infrastructure for Defence, Security, and national-security environments.

What you will do

• Own and improve production Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment patterns with Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi, or similar tools.
• Deploy AI platforms into US Government, GovCloud, and high-security environments.
• Solve complex security, reliability, and operational challenges across customer deployments.
• Translate the established platform into US Government infrastructure and accreditation requirements.
• Remain hands-on while becoming a senior technical reference point as the US engineering team grows.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Eligibility to obtain security clearance is required.
• Experience with production Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment patterns.
• Ability to work with secure, government, and high-security deployment environments.
