Privacy Manager (MedTech), China

What you will do

• Lead implementation and ongoing oversight of the DePuy Synthes global privacy program in China.
• Advise business, technology, security, digital, clinical, and commercial stakeholders on privacy requirements for products and initiatives.
• Serve as the designated Personal Information protection officer for DePuy Synthes entities in China.
• Oversee privacy impact assessments, cross-border data transfer filings, and mitigation plans for high-risk processing.
• Support incident response, breach management, audits, inspections, inquiries, and regulatory communications.
• Build privacy capabilities through training, education, privacy champions, and regulatory monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Law; an advanced degree such as JD, LLM, or MBA is preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in privacy or data protection legal roles within a complex global corporation or private practice.
• Experience in medical devices, medtech, life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare insurance, or healthcare systems.
• Strong working knowledge of China privacy regulations, including PIPL, CBDT, and DSL.
• Experience implementing China privacy programs and partnering on privacy-by-design initiatives.
• Chinese native language proficiency and proficient oral and written English are required.

• Experience with regulatory relationships, audits, investigations, and complex matrix organizations.
