TL;DR
Senior Manager, Legal Asia (Semiconductors): Setting and maintaining the legal framework for a global semiconductor manufacturer with an accent on contracts, legal policies, regulatory matters, litigation, and intellectual property training. Focus on advising executives on significant legal risks, managing claims and disputes, and coordinating external counsel across Asian operations.

Location: Onsite across hirify.global locations in China, Taiwan, and Malaysia, including Beijing, Danshui, Kaohsiung, Longxi, Penang, Shanghai, Shatian, Shenzhen, Taipei, Tianjin, Xi'an, and Zhuhai.

What you will do

  • Define, implement, and maintain legal policies and guidelines for the organization and assigned entities.
  • Set and maintain standards for business contracts, NDAs, framework agreements, delivery agreements, and development agreements.
  • Advise board executives and management on significant legal risks, including M&A transactions and cooperation contracts.
  • Lead the legal handling of regulatory matters, third-party disputes, litigation, claims, court cases, and government inquiries.
  • Select and monitor the performance of external legal counsel.
  • Oversee intellectual property training for relevant employee groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Law.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin required across reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience advising business or functional management on tactical opportunities and operational risks.
  • Experience managing claims, legal cases, authorities, external advisors, and functional implementation projects.
