Product Manager - AI Observability (AI/Observability): Shaping an AI-assisted observability roadmap that helps technology teams detect, diagnose, and resolve incidents while reducing reliability toil and cost, with an accent on user-centric product discovery, data-driven experimentation, and agentic AI. Focus on translating complex observability requirements into deliverable product increments, driving adoption across engineering and operations, and improving system reliability and customer experience.

Location: Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; hybrid, with 60% of the week spent collaborating at office locations or local sites and the remainder remotely.

What you will do

  • Shape the AI-assisted strategy and long-term roadmap for observability and incident management.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and dependencies across engineering, operations, product, and leadership teams.
  • Translate user needs into user stories, personas, acceptance tests, and smaller deliverable product increments.
  • Lead sprint and release planning to maximize business value while managing delivery effort.
  • Lead MVP discovery, prototyping, validation, and experiments based on defined hypotheses.
  • Drive improvements in technology incident detection, diagnosis, resolution, reliability, and customer experience.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of product management experience.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, operations, product, and leadership teams, including mediating conflicting priorities and building consensus.
  • Strong understanding of observability pillars, including logs, metrics, and traces, plus distributed systems and microservices.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Grafana, VM, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, CI/CD, DevOps, APIs, and backend applications.
  • Knowledge of LLMs and agentic AI, with experience scaling AI-driven products and using data to guide product decisions.

Nice to have

  • Technical education in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in observability and building or managing observability systems.
  • Proven success solving unstructured problems, defining hypotheses, creating MVPs, running experiments, and analyzing results.
  • Understanding of how observability affects availability, reliability, customer satisfaction, and business outcomes.
