Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (with RNFA) - Orthopedic Surgery

Location: 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, Illinois, United States. Full-time, Monday–Friday day shift with primarily inpatient clinical duties and occasional outpatient clinic coverage.

Salary: $61.00–$79.67 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide primarily inpatient orthopedic care, including consultations and patient rounding.
• Perform first-assist responsibilities in the operating room and provide occasional outpatient clinic coverage.
• Assess patients, perform examinations, diagnose and manage health problems, and provide direct clinical care.
• Prescribe or order medications, therapies, laboratory tests, imaging, and procedures within clinical privileges.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and students while serving as a preceptor and clinical role model.
• Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, and continuing education initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• APRNs must hold acute care certification, or qualifying inpatient nurse practitioner experience, and First Assist certification.
• Current Illinois licensure is required for the applicable role: Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician Assistant.
• National APRN certification approved by the Illinois APRN Board for APRN candidates.
• Credentialing and privileges through the hirify.global Medical Staff Office.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Nice to have

• One year of inpatient and surgical APP experience.
• Orthopedics experience.
