Neurosurgery PA (Inpatient Night Shift)

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite inpatient night shift

Salary: $133,120–$166,400 annually based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Provide inpatient neurosurgical care under the direction of supervising physicians.
• Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, patient assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic studies.
• Develop, coordinate, and modify individualized treatment and care plans for acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe medications, perform clinical and therapeutic procedures, document patient care, and support patient education.
• Participate in rounds, manage daily inpatient assignments, respond to medical emergencies, and assist with patient disposition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a Physician Assistant program.
• Physician Assistant certification and licensure within the required timeframe.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to assess patients across age groups, evaluate complex conditions, and coordinate treatment plans.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and turn patients weighing 30–35 pounds and work with prolonged standing and walking.

Nice to have

• State and federal controlled substances registration.
• Experience orienting or training Physician Assistants and supporting team coordination.
