Registered Nurse, RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite patient-care role; 36 hours per week on days/evenings with required call.

Pay range: $37.50–$75.32 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and families in a complex post-anesthesia care setting.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Apply professional nursing judgment to respond to changes in patient health status.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate effectively, and coordinate care with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and develop discharge plans with appropriate referrals.
• Support new staff, precept colleagues, participate in committees, and contribute to evidence-based practice and performance improvement.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• At least 1 year of RN experience and a strong critical care background required.
• Department-specific certifications may be required based on patient-care needs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to apply the nursing process and meet physical requirements including prolonged standing, patient turning, and occasional lifting of 30–35 pounds.
