What you will do

• Hand-assemble, splice, route, and package optical fiber components, light sources, and electro-optical assemblies in cleanroom or ESD-controlled environments.
• Perform fusion splicing, cleaving, and active or passive optical alignment using microscopes, power meters, OSA, and OTDR equipment.
• Conduct optical and electrical testing, inspect fiber end-faces, check return loss, and verify micro-tolerance specifications.
• Investigate defect patterns, diagnose optical loss issues, and perform non-conformance teardowns.
• Work with manufacturing engineering to improve SOPs, test jigs and fixtures, and transition prototype builds into volume production.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and supply chain teams on component defects, DFM improvements, and inventory accuracy.

Requirements

• Experience in assembly, microelectronics, precision electro-mechanical manufacturing, or medical device assembly.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and SOPs.
• Ability to troubleshoot unusual production challenges and adapt to new tools and processes.
• Clear written and verbal communication for logging test data, reporting defects, and collaborating with engineering.
