Robotics Software Engineer (Autonomy)

Location: Onsite in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, or Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA. Some domestic and overseas travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop machine automation and autonomy software for perception, mapping, path planning, and sensor fusion.
• Handle the full software development lifecycle, including requirements review, estimation, design, programming, testing, and release.
• Design, prototype, test, deploy, and productionize automation and autonomy software with cross-functional collaborators.
• Integrate custom and commercial off-the-shelf sensors, controllers, and other components through software interfaces.
• Conduct code reviews, functional testing, unit testing, and architectural design for core control software.
• Use Git-based version management and development branching practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in robotics, computer vision, electrical or electronics engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or computer engineering.
• At least 2 years of robotic software development experience and relevant robotics or autonomous vehicle industry experience.
• Strong hands-on C++ programming skills are required.
• At least 2 years of experience developing algorithms or software with lidar, cameras, and radar.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Experience level equivalent to 4+ years with a bachelor’s degree or 2+ years with a master’s degree in the relevant industry domain.

Nice to have

• Machine learning and deep learning experience.
• Experience with MATLAB and Python.
• Experience working with GPUs, CPUs, and FPGAs.
• Experience with ROS, CUDA, OpenCV, and containerization.
• Familiarity with safety-critical system design and industry standards.
