Senior Autonomy Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite work at the Mossville office is required. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The role requires up to 25% travel.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year.

What you will do

• Lead systems development and testing across multiple engineering disciplines, with a focus on safety and performance.
• Develop machine safety systems, including requirements, architecture, documentation, coding, product quality, and validation.
• Apply functional safety and safety of the intended functionality processes to new designs.
• Integrate hardware and software solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct laboratory and field validation, including camera and radar calibration, ISO compliance, and VR analysis.
• Operate HIL benches, manage engineering tasks in Azure DevOps, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Experience in automotive, machine, or industrial embedded network communication software development.
• Experience developing and executing data acquisition plans for radar and camera detection sensors.
• Strong software engineering knowledge, including Agile development, debugging, testing, deployment, and maintainable full-stack coding.
• Strong C++ programming, object-oriented design, software architecture, real-time systems, embedded programming, and Git skills.
• Experience working with software requirements and machine applications.
• Mining or construction industry experience is required. A bachelor's or master's degree in robotics, engineering, computer science, or a related field is expected for top candidates.
