Senior Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering (Thin-Film Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, and follow up on sputter system start-up, conversion, process characterization, and documentation.
• Monitor sputter parameters through online SPC and procedure-conformance audits.
• Troubleshoot sputter process and yield issues with shift process and Anelva yield teams.
• Lead process improvement and qualification projects covering new products, machines, and process changes, with focus on utilization, yield, quality, cost, and PPH.
• Improve media magnetic baseline performance, including ACC%, process stability, repeatability, recipe tuning, and optimization.
• Supervise, coach, and train process technicians, engineering specialists, and characterization technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Strong foundational knowledge of semiconductor or thin-film manufacturing processes.
• Proficient spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, documentation, and process-characterization skills.
• Knowledge of project management and process improvement methods such as FMEA or Six Sigma.

Nice to have

• Advanced coursework or thesis research in vacuum technology.
• Experience with magnetic thin-film deposition and characterization.
• Research experience at a recognized academic or industrial institution.
