Principal Electrical Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role includes overseas travel, including travel to Hong Kong and the Netherlands.

What you will do

• Design and develop electrical assemblies and control systems for industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Develop solutions to improve equipment performance and resolve structural issues.
• Define customer requirements, assess feasibility, and lead electrical development activities.
• Perform calculations, modelling, experiments, measurements, prototyping, testing, release activities, and risk assessments.
• Conduct component, module, and system failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Manage electrical engineering processes, design specifications, and related documentation in the Malaysia production facilities.

Requirements

• MSc or BSc degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience in semiconductors, electronics, RFID, LED, or industrial machinery.
• Solid experience with PDM or PLM software, preferably Teamcenter.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Altium Designer; knowledge of Arduino, SPICE, or C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of DFM, FMEA, Six Sigma, 8D, Poka-Yoke, and relevant quality and safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English, technical troubleshooting ability, decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Arduino, SPICE, or C++.
• Experience in component engineering for cost reduction and end-of-life replacement.
