Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid work with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 annual base salary, plus equity and additional compensation components.

What you will do

• Build customer-facing web, mobile, and backend systems for high-value international money transfers.
• Own technical design and architecture for complex, ambiguous, greenfield systems and 0-to-1 product experiences.
• Deliver reliable, observable, scalable systems that meet strict availability and latency requirements.
• Use customer signals, product insights, and data to guide technical decisions and improve sender trust.
• Partner with product, design, analytics, and engineering teams across identity, trust, money movement, and pricing.
• Mentor engineers, drive technical decisions, and establish standards for coding, testing, and system design.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience building and operating systems end to end.
• Expertise with TypeScript, React, and native mobile development using iOS, Android, or React Native.
• Expertise in one or more backend languages: Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Experience designing and building distributed, large-scale systems with architecture segmentation for product scale.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and managed cloud services.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

• Experience in fintech, payments, or other regulated industries.
