Staff Software Engineer, People Products (AI)

Location: Remote-friendly with travel required; staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time. The listed location is San Francisco, California, United States.

Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD

What you will do

• Build full-stack, end-to-end products across the People Products portfolio.
• Design and implement AI-native workflows, including tools, evaluations, prompts, and applications.
• Work directly with HR teams, recruiters, managers, and other internal stakeholders to identify problems and iterate on solutions.
• Make independent product and architecture decisions in a low-structure environment.
• Contribute to the direction of the team, its products, and the use of applied AI in people workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack or product engineer.
• Experience leading complex, multi-month projects or teams as a tech lead or equivalent.
• Experience shipping LLM-native features or applications.
• Ability to build independently from idea through production and make sound architectural tradeoffs.
• Strong collaboration, communication, user engagement, and feedback skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MCP or experience building Claude or LLM integrations in production.
• Experience at an AI-native company or in a product-focused 0-to-1 engineering environment.
• Experience with HR technology platforms such as Greenhouse, Workday, or Rippling.
