Estimator II (Electrical Construction)

What you will do

• Review plans, specifications, schedules, bid documents, codes, standards, and contract requirements to define project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for defined scopes and moderately complex commercial or industrial projects.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, indirect-cost, productivity, and procurement inputs.
• Request and review vendor and subcontractor quotations, clarify scope, and identify omissions, conflicts, constructability concerns, and commercial risks.
• Prepare conceptual estimates, budgets, unit pricing, alternates, allowances, change-order pricing, and RFP responses.
• Maintain estimate records and bid documentation, participate in estimate reviews and site visits, and collaborate with operations, clients, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of commercial and industrial construction and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, schedules, technical standards, and contract requirements.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for quantity takeoffs and ConEst or comparable assembly-based estimating software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Understanding of labor units, crew composition, productivity factors, material pricing, vendor quotations, and subcontractor scope.
• Strong organization, communication, time management, arithmetic, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• ASPE certification or estimating education.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent construction-safety training.
• Electrical apprenticeship, journey-level credential, or field-leadership training.
• Project management, construction management, scheduling, manufacturer, or other relevant discipline-specific training.
