Estimator I T&D (Electrical Construction)

Location: Castle Rock, Colorado, United States; onsite work in a company-designated office or field location

Salary: $76,377–$129,077 per year, paid weekly

Electrical construction contractor delivering transmission, distribution, substation, telecommunications, maintenance, live-line, clean energy, and emergency restoration projects through Great Southwestern Construction, a subsidiary of hirify.global.

What you will do

• Prepare cost estimates for transmission, distribution, and substation electrical construction projects.
• Develop production assumptions using previous bidding and project history, and track labor hours and costs.
• Perform material takeoffs, solicit supplier and subcontractor pricing, and assemble RFQ/RFP documentation.
• Prepare proposal work plans, clarifications, exceptions, billing, change orders, and construction schedules.
• Attend field job walks, pre-bid meetings, job site visits, and project close-out meetings; travel and overnight stays may be required.
• Review project documents and contracts, coordinate operational redlines with legal, and participate in estimate reviews.

Requirements

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Regular attendance and work from a company-designated office or field location are required.
• At least 2 years of estimating or relevant construction experience.
• Ability to analyze construction and electrical drawings and formulate accurate estimates.
• Knowledge of electrical materials and installation methods, with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
