Front-end Software Engineering Lead & Manager (React)

What you will do

• Lead multiple front-end engineering teams and manage hiring, performance evaluations, development, and team accountability.
• Define and implement application architecture, technical standards, architecture governance, and RFC processes.
• Build and scale enterprise-grade front-end systems and design systems across business units and product lines.
• Manage resources, budgets, planning, risk, compliance, and delivery outcomes.
• Present technical concepts and influence senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
• Attract, develop, and retain senior engineering talent while driving organizational change.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive front-end engineering experience, including at least 5 years in architecture leadership or a principal engineer role.
• Expert proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript; experience with Vue or Angular is beneficial.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed enterprise applications supporting 50,000+ users and building multi-product design systems.
• Deep knowledge of micro-frontends, SSR/SSG, CSR optimization, browser fundamentals, state management, GraphQL, REST, and front-end performance engineering.
• Experience with design tokens, Figma token pipelines, Storybook, Node toolchains, monorepos, CI/CD, front-end security, and architectural documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; experience in banking, finance, or another regulated industry is preferred.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with AI engineering, chunking, embeddings, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with Elasticsearch and OpenShift.
• Experience working with distributed teams, offshore delivery partners, waterfall, and Agile methodologies.
