Frontend Engineer, Expansion (React)

Location: Remote in Canada or office-based in Toronto. Office-assigned employees spend at least 50% of each month in the local office or with users; remote employees regularly work from home and must live at least 35 miles (56 km) from a Stripe office.

Annual salary: CA$172,000–CA$258,000 in the primary location. The range may vary by location and may be narrowed based on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Build polished end-user experiences and interactive tools for acquisition journeys and conversion.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to create new website capabilities.
• Utilize, maintain, and extend Stripe’s design systems.
• Integrate the web platform with self-serve authoring and experimentation tools.
• Enable prospective customers to identify the right Stripe product lines.
• Pair with and mentor other engineers while contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant web frontend development or creative technology experience at a technology-focused, product-driven company.
• Experience writing clear, elegant code in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for engineering solutions focused on growth and enablement.

Nice to have

• Understanding of design principles including typography, layout, balance, and proportion.
• Experience building complex interactive tools with state management and data fetching.
• React proficiency focused on interactions, animation, performance, and polish.
• Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.
