Product Support Engineer (Ion Beam New Product Introduction)

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, United States; work includes factory, customer-site, domestic, and international travel.

Salary: $82,734–$104,796 per year, plus bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Support new product development and new product introduction activities for Ion Beam Systems and Sources.
• Represent Service requirements throughout the product lifecycle and contribute to design-for-service reviews.
• Coordinate service launch deliverables, including documentation, training, procedures, service plans, and installation readiness.
• Transfer product and system knowledge from Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development to Field Service, Technical Support, Training, Documentation, and customer-facing teams.
• Support installations, field readiness, troubleshooting, technical escalations, customer engagements, and early product adoption.
• Coordinate factory and field resources, track launch timelines and risks, and provide supplemental after-hours technical support when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Technical Support, Field Service, Product Support, Engineering Support, semiconductor equipment, vacuum-based equipment, ion beam technology, technical manufacturing, or a related area.
• Strong technical background in semiconductor equipment, ion beam systems, vacuum systems, thin-film deposition, etch, sputtering, capital equipment, or complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to develop system- and subsystem-level expertise, bridge communication across Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Field Support, and customers, and identify service risks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical issue resolution through collaboration and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to create clear, practical, field-ready documentation and training content and work in factory and customer-site environments.
