Senior Electrical Engineer, NPI (DNA Sequencing)

Location: Menlo Park, California, United States; 100% onsite. Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States without present or future sponsorship.

Salary: $112,000–$168,000 per year

What you will do

• Support electrical new product introduction from concept and prototype development through pilot builds, product transfer, and production ramp.
• Transition PCBAs, cable assemblies, and electrical hardware into manufacturing with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Design, build, validate, and document electrical test fixtures, production test equipment, schematics, and PCB layouts.
• Perform PCBA bring-up, electrical testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and system-level debugging.
• Develop test requirements, procedures, acceptance criteria, cable drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.
• Analyze test results, failure trends, and yield data while supporting engineering changes, process qualification, product transfer, and manufacturing training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with PCBA design, bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, electrical test fixtures, or production test equipment.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools; Cadence or Altium experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
• Understanding of electrical manufacturing processes, design-for-manufacturing, design-for-test, engineering documentation, and cross-functional problem solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with new product introduction or manufacturing transfer of complex electrical or electromechanical products.
• Experience with PCBA contract manufacturers, cable assembly suppliers, or production test stations.
• Experience with electromechanical assembly, FPGA-based systems, embedded electronics, or digital communication interfaces.
• Familiarity with electrical safety, EMC, product qualification, reliability testing, PDM or PLM systems, and formal change control.
