Electrical PCBA Sustaining Engineer

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; travel to Singapore and China may be required for escalations

Base pay: $117,800–$172,800 annually

What you will do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex PCBAs at the board and circuit level using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and related laboratory equipment.
• Analyze PCBA designs and reverse-engineer circuits to understand circuit intent, failure modes, and subsystem behavior.
• Perform failure analysis on analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, including issues with limited or missing design documentation.
• Develop board diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair plans, including timelines, technical dependencies, and repair readiness.
• Support ECOs, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, engineering documentation, and supplier training.
• Collaborate with systems, software, manufacturing, service, supply chain, senior engineers, and external vendors to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in electronics development, sustaining engineering, or board-level subsystem support preferred.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles and hands-on PCBA troubleshooting.
• Experience independently resolving complex board- and subsystem-level issues.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and ECO execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional technical and non-technical stakeholders.
