What you will do

• Manage, hire, level, and coach a team of designers and front-end engineers.
• Own the strategic roadmap for the Scraps design system, including component priorities, tooling, and web application refactoring.
• Maintain UI quality, visual consistency, and product expression across the application.
• Keep Figma designs and production code aligned through tokens, variables, component parity, and design-to-production workflows.
• Build components and infrastructure that support agentic front-end development and prototyping.
• Drive adoption through documentation, lint rules, and contribution workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience on a full-time design systems or design engineering team.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills, including spacing, hierarchy, and micro-interactions.
• Deep fluency in React, TypeScript, CSS, and the DOM.
• Familiarity with Figma design systems tooling, including components, variants, variables, auto layout, shared libraries, and branching workflows.
• Ability to balance long-term design system strategy with the practical needs of product teams.
