Frontend Web App Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Carlos, California, with 3+ days per week onsite and remote work on the remaining days. All work must be performed in the United States.

Salary: $135,000–$225,000 base salary per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement React-based features for web applications using real-time and historical aviation data.
• Integrate, process, and visualize live streams and archived datasets from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers on feature design and implementation.
• Contribute to code reviews, frontend architecture, reusable components, and shared libraries.
• Improve frontend reliability and maintainability through testing, documentation, and performance-focused development.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building user-facing web applications, or equivalent experience through internships, projects, or coursework.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, HTML, CSS, and modern web standards.
• Familiarity with asynchronous frontend patterns, APIs, or data streams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
• Attention to code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Must be a U.S. Person and already authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship and visa transfers are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with mapping or geospatial tools such as Mapbox or Cesium.
• Exposure to live data or video streaming concepts.
• Interest in aviation, air travel efficiency, and flight safety.
