Instructional Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering

What you will do

• Teach undergraduate and graduate Systems Engineering courses across areas such as operations research, systems simulation, logistics, manufacturing, engineering management, statistics, and modeling.
• Deliver applied, project-based, and hands-on engineering instruction.
• Mentor Senior Design projects and other applied student projects.
• Teach general engineering and other courses as needed by the School of Engineering.
• Support student mentoring, experiential learning, curriculum development, recruitment, and School service.
• Contribute to ABET assessment and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline by the appointment start date.
• Applicants nearing completion may be considered if the doctorate is awarded before appointment.
• Preparation to teach Systems Engineering courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Ability to develop and deliver applied, project-based, and hands-on engineering instruction.
• Face-to-face work with a regular attendance schedule on campus and in the workplace is required.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring Senior Design or other applied student projects.
• Experience using computational or simulation tools in instruction.
• Experience supporting ABET assessment, continuous improvement, or curriculum development.

• Fixed-term, non-tenure-track, nine-month appointment beginning Fall 2027.
