Senior Project Manager - Transit

Location: Edmonton, Canada; onsite

Western Pacific Enterprises, a subsidiary of hirify.global, provides large-scale electrical construction services across western Canada, including commercial and industrial, substation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and transit infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Lead assigned Power and Systems work packages from project planning through construction and closeout.
• Manage electrical and communications construction scopes, safety, quality, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and project execution plans.
• Serve as the primary representative with the General Contractor and coordinate with owners, consultants, utilities, regulators, and community stakeholders.
• Manage contracts, change control, subcontract agreements, invoicing, project costs, productivity, cash flow, and forecasting.
• Monitor critical-path activities, assess risks, develop mitigation and recovery plans, and resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues.
• Lead and mentor project managers, estimators, coordinators, and field management personnel while supporting audits, inspections, and lessons-learned initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of construction industry experience and 10 years in project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management, project controls, earned value management, and forecasting.
• Advanced scheduling experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Leadership, organization, communication, and decision-making skills for managing multiple responsibilities autonomously.
• Experience or knowledge in civil construction, utilities, structures, transportation infrastructure, and transit systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with LRT and transit expansion projects.
• Rail infrastructure, major bridge, transportation corridor, urban utility relocation, or municipal infrastructure megaproject experience.
