Construction Tech I

Location: Benton (Shannon Hills), Arkansas, United States; onsite construction work with possible out-of-town assignments, overtime, emergency call-outs, and day, evening, or night schedules.

What you will do

• Install underground conduit, handholes, pedestals, cabinets, row markers, pipes, innerducts, and vaults using trenching, plowing, sawing, digging, and horizontal drilling.
• Install aerial cable, utility poles, and associated hardware, including framing poles and transferring existing cables.
• Pull fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cables through conduit and perform infrastructure maintenance and repairs.
• Operate crew vehicles, vacuum excavation equipment, trailers, compressors, backhoes, mini-excavators, plows, directional drills, and related construction tools.
• Conduct utility potholing, traffic-control flagging, job-site surveys, and equipment maintenance.
• Complete project documentation and escalate priority issues when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of aerial and underground construction experience in the cable or telephone industry.
• Ability to read maps, prints, and drawings and determine the required materials, equipment, and tools.
• Ability to climb utility poles or use extension ladders and load and transport heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and company safety regulations and practices.
• Availability for variable schedules, weekends, overtime, emergency call-outs, and out-of-town assignments as required.
