TL;DR
Electrical Engineering Technician (High-Voltage Power Systems): Producing and reviewing drawings, schematics, calculations, and cable schedules for high-voltage substations, switchyards, transmission lines, and power distribution projects with an accent on electrical design documentation and power-system calculations. Focus on generating accurate one-line and wiring diagrams, sizing cables and batteries, and supporting projects at active construction sites.
Location: Pineville, Louisiana, United States; workplace: on-site. Overnight travel to active construction sites for one or two weeks at a time is required.

What you will do
- Assist project engineers with the layout and design of high-voltage substations, switchyards, power quality projects, transmission lines, and other power delivery systems.
- Generate and correct one-line, three-line, AC/DC and communication schematics, panel elevations, relay panel wiring diagrams, and equipment wiring diagrams.
- Perform cable, battery sizing, lighting, AC load, and ground-grid calculations.
- Generate cable schedules and prepare project drawings for customer delivery through batch plotting.
- Communicate with project leaders and engineering managers while completing work according to project requirements and schedules.
- Travel to active outdoor construction sites and follow site safety requirements.
Requirements
- Vocational or technical certification as an Electrical Engineering Technician or an associate degree.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work for extended periods at a computer.
- Clean driving record and a successful Motor Vehicle Report are required for use of company vehicles.
- Ability to complete occasional overnight site travel and work safely outdoors at active construction sites.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or CDEGS grounding software.
