Field Technician C (Telecommunications)

Location: Spokane, Washington, and surrounding area; field support covers Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and British Columbia, Canada. Remote work and on-call availability from home are supported.

Salary: $30.04–$56.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, repair, configure, test, and perform preventive maintenance on network, telecommunications, and computer equipment.
• Support service activation, telecommunications system maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting in the field.
• Act as the escalation point for unresolved issues from the Help Desk or Network Operations Center.
• Maintain records covering repairs, downtime, changes, and system updates.
• Perform network, circuit, digital, analog, fiber, and power testing as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of telecommunications installation, maintenance, repair, and service activation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft or UNIX operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required for continued employment.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Nice to have

• Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+ certification.
• Experience with cable connectors, fiber, multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, T-1, SONET, ATM, private lines, and voice and data applications.
• Experience with AC/DC power testing, 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies, T1, DS3, BERT, and analog VG testing.
