Senior Linux Systems Administrator (Automation)

Location: Niceville, Florida, United States; onsite role with up to 20% travel and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 for Maryland and Virginia; $120,000–$150,000 for Nevada; $130,000–$170,000 for California. Additional compensation may include bonuses and relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, optimize, and maintain enterprise Linux systems across bare-metal and virtualized environments.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and collections for provisioning, hardening, patching, and configuration drift remediation.
• Support Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes environments, including workload deployment and lifecycle management.
• Automate DISA STIG implementation and verification and remediate ACAS/Nessus vulnerability findings.
• Manage repositories, system updates, image baselines, VMware infrastructure, storage, networking, and supporting Windows services.
• Maintain monitoring, logging, cybersecurity compliance, SOPs, automation guides, and architecture diagrams.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance required.
• At least 10 years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering.
• Technical bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Strong Enterprise Linux expertise, including RHEL 7/8/9, LVM, systemd, firewalld, SELinux, and Bash scripting.
• Production experience developing, testing, and debugging Ansible automation and administering VMware environments.
• Ability to travel up to 20% and lift up to 35 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Capsule servers, Kickstart, SCAP, DISA STIGs, and DoD RMF environments.
• Knowledge of ACAS/Nessus, Trellix/HBSS, DoD networks, Layer 2/3 networking, and firewall operations.
• DoD 8570/8140 certifications such as Security+, CASP+, or CISSP, plus RHCSA, RHCE, or Linux+.
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and PKI.
